Teaching and Learning Approaches Enhanced by Technology
As you enter 2014 it's not only great to reflect on the classroom successes of last year, but also to think about how you can make experiences for your students even better in the new year. In a recent blog post from EmergingEdTech.com, K. Walsh writes that we must embrace the following teaching and learning approaches as best practice: Student Created Content, Collaborative Learning, Active Learning, Personal Learning Networks, Mobile Learning, Competency Based Learning, Social Learning, and Flipped Teaching and Learning. Each one can easily be enhanced by technology. I challenge you to take just one of these approaches, enhance it with some aspect of technology, and implement it in your classroom before the end of the year. I would be more than willing to help you brainstorm an idea, refine an idea that you've been thinking about for some time now, select the most appropriate piece of technology (hardware or software), physically be present as you try it with one of your classes, or even help guide you through the whole process. Just let me know!
