Teacher Showcase - Student Survey Via Google Forms

As a part of Mr. Masi's professional development this year, he is piloting Connecticut’s System for Educator Evaluation and Development (SEED).  The system is in direct response to the revolution in teacher/administrator evaluation that is sweeping the nation.  According to the State of CT, "SEED is a model evaluation and support system that is aligned to the Connecticut Guidelines for Educator Evaluation (Core Requirements), which were adopted by the Performance Evaluation Advisory Council (PEAC) and inform implementation of model teacher and administrator evaluation and support systems being piloted in district throughout the state during the 2012-13 school year."¹

As you have heard, a portion of the new teacher evaluation will be based on student and parent feedback.  In response to the requirements of the SEED program, Mr. Masi has developed both a student and parent survey through the use of Google Forms to collect and analyze data.  He has posted the surveys to his class website which allows easy access for students/parents.  The back-end of the survey is a spreadsheet in his Google Apps account that simply tabulates his data.  From there he can use the built-in summary of responses to see a graphical representation of the data or he can choose to create his own charts/analyses.  Check it out!  Joe's site
